Kinda buggered up my hand. I think it was a combination of me uping my game in pinch and grippers. The knuckle that belongs to my index on my right hand is all jacked. Feels like something is torn, or sprained. Every time I go to pinch or squeeze grippers it makes me kinda wince. There is a bit of swelling too. Sucks ass. I was just getting into the groove of training for Aaron's grip comp in March. I still have my lefty for now, so we'll have to see what my bitch hand can do.
On the brewing side of things the world is brighter!
The Vanilla Whiskey Oaked Porter is looking and tasting mighty fine. It's still in the primary, and will be for another week, but I cannot wait to bottle that beast. Jason, since you are coming down from the great white north, I will save a bottle or two for you good sir!
I brewed up a 2 1/2 gallon batch of Saison with the honeycakes on Thurday. It was her first full all grain brew. Had fun, and hopefully made a decent beer. Saisons are usually a bit funky due to the type of yeast used and a higher fermentation temp. Unfortunately I am having a bitch of a time getting the temp in the upper 70s. Guess I'll have to wait to brew another in the summertime when my home temp is in the 80s. Hope the lower temps wont hurt the flavor too much.
I also brewed an experimental gallon of what I hope to be an Old Ale style beer. I had a pound of dried malt extract sitting around so I threw it in the brew kettle with molasses, brown sugar, and Fuggles hops. The wort was a bit sweet with quite a bitter back end. I have been watching it ferment since Saturday, and have become convinced that bitterness will mellow a bit. At least it better. That beer will need to sit a bit as it is about 8.5% ABV. My first "big beer".

That sucks about your knuckle bud. I remember prior to going to Rindo's comp. a couple of years ago I really buggered my elbow. Not that I had a chance of winning or anything but come game day it was the furthest thing from my mind. My ring finger knuckle on my right is giving me grief lately as well. Personally I'm thinking you and I will be having a back and forth at the comp.
Well I do have a left hand, and some time for my right to heal up. I think that back and forth is about right. I'm looking for the medley to be my big fun!
